But Hayden Panettiere managed to put on a brave face yesterday after being spotted for the first following the revelation her mother Lesley wanted a permanent separation from her father Alan.
However the Heroes actress did not look in the best of moods as she stopped to have a facial at an upmarket salon in sunny Van Nuys.
The 22-year-old star still managed to look glam in a pair of tight fitting blue jeans, open-necked blouse and studded sandals.It only emerged yesterday that her manager and parent Lesley had decided to end her marriage to her fire department lieutenant father.
However their relationship was clearly troubled since he was arrested for beating her in 2008.
The divorce petition, which she filed in L.A. County Superior Court, lists the date of separation as July 15, 2008, which is a month prior to the incident that led to his battery conviction.
